Rocky Mountains. Lake Lousie is magical and so is Moraine Lake and Peytoe Lake. Columbia Ice Fields is fun to walk on but watch out for those crevices. If you have more time do head further north and hit Jasper National Park. It's much larger and has less tourists. You will be rewarded on the drive up seeing lots of mountain goats along the side of the road on rock and hopefully a black bear or moose or two Don't forget to ski and mountain bike around Whistler, British Columbia. There's even glacier skiing in the summer at Blackcomb For a little bit of a European flare, hit Montreal and Quebec City. Have some fine French cuisine or just grab some yummy Poutine (Cheese Kurds & Gravy on Fries). In the summer winter or autumn, head up to the Laurentians. St Sauvier is a pretty tourist town and Mt Tremblant is a great place to ski in the winter, bike or hike in the summer. Good stops along the way are Val David, and St Agathe. Biking along the Le Petit Gare trail is a great way to spend a day or two. An old railway line converted into a bike trail from St Jerome to Tremblant. Most parts are pretty flat. You will pass thru lots of quaint towns and lakes. I've been to the Laurentian almost 10 times and keep going back (see pictures below) |
